Description

First private French yacht designed by one of the most famous French naval architects, André MAURIC, the M/Y LA BOUFFONNE was built between in 1958 at the Chantier de l'Estérel in Cannes according to the draconian standards and constraints of the manufacture of ships of the French Navy. Her first owner, Louis Fontaine, founder of the Ensign Prisunic, has decided to modify Yacht this Customs Interception Yacht for his private use; To do this, he asked some help to Mr Marc Du Plantier, friend of his wife Claude Charles Otto Zieseniss.

Entirely built in Mahogany wood and in various species of fruits wood (mainly cherry and pear) for its interior fittings, this classic cruiser has exceptional cruising qualities due to her exceptional hull line.
LA BOUFFONNE is equipped of two GM 6V71N 425Hp engines developping an appreciable speed (between 15 and 20 knots). At 15knots her fuel comsumption is of 100 liters / hour, 3 to 4 times lower than recent Yachts with the same size.

LA BOUFFONNE remained in the the first owner's hands for a period of 30 years. In 1998, her 3rd and last owner, Mr François GIRAUDET, a passionate yachtsman and ex President for France of the 27th and 28th editions of the America's Cup, was able to keep the original spirit while equipping it over time with essential modern equipments.

Registered in the purest French Yachting Tradition, this classic Yacht of discreet luxury and indescribable charm will have everything to seduce you. Moreover she is moored since 10 years in the Bassin de Saint-Marc in front of the columns of the Place Saint -Marc de Venice, one of the most exceptional harbour in the world.
